Excellent is the right word to give as an appreciation to a person or to an organization that has done something that brings change and innovation to the community. One good example is the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) who received an appreciation from Energy conservation award. Nashik Municipal Corporation building won the 5th state level award for excellence in Energy Conservation and Management in the Architects Category given by Maharashtra Energy Development Authority (MEDA). The building of Nashik Municipal Corporation won the award because of the distinct design of the building and at the same time helps in saving energy. Designer Arun Kabre said that the building was designed to make use of the sunlight and air to conserve electricity. NMC building does not only stand as an architectural design it also rise as a building that uses technology to help aid the problem of saving energy. NMC has the same aim with projet photovoltaique that other organizations construct in order to save energy with the help of natural energy like the sun. NMC deserves the appreciation given by MEDA and it shows in its uniqueness because unlike other buildings NMC is cozy and airy with 3 meter wide passages on sides. The design of the fourth floor of the building is constructed to make sure it provides a natural cover to the three stories that looks like an umbrella, protecting the building from the intense heat of the sun thus decreasing the temperature and giving a cool effect to the building. The idea of building Nashik Municipal Corporation is to make it simple, people friendly and utility oriented. By living with these ideas NMC made it to winning the award and appreciation from different groups and individuals. This appreciation only shows that two beneficial things can happen at the same time. With NMC it shows how a magnificent building can turn into a helpful form of saving energy. The award given to NMC is a proof that anything that has a purpose truly deserves an appreciation.
